ONCE AGAIN NATIONAL CRPS AWARENESS MONTH ROLLED ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND THIS YEAR WAS BIGGER THAN EVER!
Judging by the amount of emails we received here at American RSDHope, the Awareness Month was the biggest one we have ever had. More patients had articles in the paper than ever before, more patients talked about with their family and friends, and more people seemed to be aware of it than in past years. Even visits to our website were far increased over past years, up over 1500 visitors per day almost the entire month long!
This is all because all of YOU out there have been working so hard this year in getting the word out about the disease, spreading the word to your Doctors, pain clinics, physical therapy centers, and getting your state legislatures to pass legislation recognizing November as Awareness month.
In addition, we have had thousands of requests for the official CRPS Awareness ribbon during 2013, our busiest year yet since we started sending them out over 15 years ago! People are putting them on everything from websites and Facebook pages to t-shirts and race cars this year. What an exciting year for awareness!
And buckle your seat belts folks because the RSDSA and American RSDHope and some other movers and shakers in the CRPS community are going to be meeting in the coming months to share ideas on moving the community forward, increasing awareness, helping the local groups, stretching forth in our research efforts, and much more! 2014 is going to be a very big year for all of us and one we will look back on and say, “That was the year we took a giant leap forward.” More on all of that in the next few months because we are going to need everyone’s help to make it happen, as always. We are one community working together and even if we sometimes walk down separate paths to reach that destination, our destination is the same. One day a cure.
